Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Hot Flashes, Excessive Sweating And Elevated Heart Rate?
I have noticed over the past several weeks that after meals and at other times during the day I feel extremely hot, start sweating and my heart feel like its pounding. My heartrate goes over 110. I am having an episode that started about 1/2 hr. ago and my heartrate was 115 when it started. The sweating has stopped but I still feel my heart pounding and my heartrate is 109. Is this a normal thing to experience ? Do I need to be concerned about it ?
Infact heart rate going over hundreds without any exercise is not normal if for long time. Especially if it is associated with sweating and flushes. So I would suggest you take care of it. Your should talk to your doctor. Probably would need a heart tape and heart examination.
Besides I would also suggest thyroid functions. So my personal opinion is that you should not ignore it and should talk to your doctor in more details. Mostly it's not serious but still finding the cause is good.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
