What Causes Hot Flashes While On Birth Control Pills?
Hey, I am currently on birth control pills, I take them every day like I should, but I actually ovulated this time around. I have never done that before. Now I am having some weird symptoms... I am having hot flashes constantly. I am exhausted all the time. I m not really sure what is going on.
Based on the history you have shared, these symptoms may be caused by hormonal imbalance caused by these pills. If symptoms persisted before taking the pills, a baseline thyroid profile and sexual hormonal profile may be needed. Also an EKG and urine metanephrines may rarely be required if these symptoms persist. A repeat gynecologist review and alternative therapy or options may be discussed.
Wishing you a speedy recovery. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Saddiq Ulabidin, General & Family Physician
