Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Hot Flushes In Cheek Along With Intermittent Headaches?
I am a 52 female presenting with random (7 or 8 times a day, a few seconds to a few minutes) burning on the left cheek, intermittent headache over the left eye, some burning around the left ear and into the left side of my lips. A recent MRI revealed trace amount of T2/FLAIR hyperintense signal within the periventricular white matter and mild diffuse volume loss...what does this mean for someone my age? These things seem normal for an older person.
* As per my clinical experience, the constellation of symptoms of flushed cheeks, intermittent headache over left eye, burning left ear, left side of lips do indicate possible Multiple sclerosis condition (which can present at an age of 52 years ).
However, a clinical examination with study of MRI scans and other data of lab as well are equally important to look for possible differential diagnosis in this regard.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel
