Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am suffering during the last 2-3 years from hotflush under my feet continously. I consulted with internist at different times without any positive result. I am a man of 70 , a retired professor but active, practicing Yoga and normal walking everyday. My peripheral circulation is normal. Would you kindly suggest me how to get rid of this problem. With regards, Bashirullah
Flushed in the feet is most likely peripheral neuropathy which is common in people with diabetes mellitus that is poor blood sugar control. This is because the blood sugar affects the nerves. It can also be associated with low vitamin B levels. The absorption of vitamin B reduces as from 40 yrs of age.
Confirm your blood sugar levels and in case your are diabetic. Check you long term control by doing a test called HA1c which indicate your blood sugar control. Also check your vitamin B level and take foods which increase but B levels in the body.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Mutuma Geoffrey Zambezi
