What Causes Hot Metallic Odor While On Ibuprofen?
For quite some time, six months, I often smell hot metal. It smells like someone is welding. No one else smells it. I have smelled it at work, home, other places. I am 55, reasonably healthy, active. Taking no mess, except sometimes ibuprofen as I am on my feet ll day at work. Should I worry?

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have hot metallic odor while on Ibuprofen which is s safe to take otherwise except if you are allergic to it or there is over-dosage of it. Drink plenty of water to prevent it. Acute use of this drug in over- dosage can cause gastric irritation, ulcers and higher doses can cause gastro-intestinal hemorrhage, kidney problems, liver problems and its Chronic use can also lead to renal impairment, liver impairment. I would suggest you to consult your physician for a physical examination and advise. You should refrain yourself from regular or excessive use of pain killer medication or keep on changing after every few months to prevent dependence.
