Hello,
Nausea after surgery can be explaned as a side effects of
anesthesia, Other factors that can play a role are
dehydration, medications being given on an empty stomach, an overly aggressive return to a normal diet, and a lack of preventative nausea and vomiting medication.
The good think is that this symptom disappear after a couple of days after surgery.
About your hypersensitive sense of smell or
hyperosmia ,i can say that it can be associated with multiple conditions and can trigger a variety of symptoms.
Some conditions associated with hyperosmia can cause the change in smell, and vice versa.
Some neurological conditions,
diabetes.
pregnancy, migraine, certain autoimune diseases like Addison's disease and certain prescription medication can be possible cause of hyperosmia.
Surgery generaly do not cause hyperosmia, but this is not an absolute affirmation. The treatment of hyperosmia involves pinpointing and treating the underlying cause of the symptom.
My advice is to consult physically your treating doctor to determine the root cause of hyperosmia. Meantime i suggest chewing peppermint gum that can be helpful until you can move away from the triggering smell.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
