What Causes Hyperpigmentation While On Birth Control Pills?
I have had some hormonal pigmentation from birth control tablets. I have stopped taking them two months ago. How long before the pigmentation fades. I have seen a skin specialist. I am using glyolic peptide cleanser at night, and sk7n serums brighters spf 30 tinted moistures etc and am booked in for six weeksvtime to have some piccosure laser. Any adivice would be great. I have porcelain skin, don t go out in the sun, ear sunglasees hat etc.
Hyper-pigmentation of the face known as melasma can occur as a side effect of hormonal pills.Increased level of female hormones during the use of pills or during pregnancy can cause such pigmentation. Sun exposure can also aggravate the condition. You have been well directed by your physician. Hydroquinone cream can be used. Laser treatment can be done which can reduce the pigmentation effectively.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
