Hi, I am a tennis teacher and 3 month ago a ball from the tennis ball machine hit me in the left part of my neck (from 1m far from the machine with 100km/h) Two weeks after that I developed tahicardia, fatigue, pain in my muscle, My cardiologist sent me to a endocrinologist and after all tests he decided that I have hyperthyroidism and a nodule in my left part of thyroid. He denied that hyperthyroidism started with that ball, but I didn t have any health problems before.i believes this is the reason.I not tolerate Tyrozol and I don t know how I will deal with this situation.

What Causes Hyperthyroidism?
Hi, While there has been a report of transient thyrotoxicosis after blunt trauma to the gland. However, in your case, if there is a nodule in your gland, then it s unlikely to be because of the trauma rather the nodule is causing it. The timing if symptoms of thyrotoxicosis may be just a co incidence or because stress may cause worsening of such symptoms. There are a number of tests which can clearly defrentiate the causes and hence avoid confusion. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Take care Regards, Dr Mahboob Ur Rahman , General & Family Physician
