Psychiatrist 's  Response
Hi
I would want to assure you that this problem does not seem like 'hypochondria'. Hypochondria would imply having intense severe anxiety about having a certain serious illness, despite having no clinical proof of the same.

What appears to me is that you do have episodes of anxiety, commonly referred to as panic attacks, wherein a person feels restless, has symptoms of sweating, palpitations, tremors, breathlessness or nausea/headaches, along with an intense fear of doom or of getting out of control. These usually subside over half to one hour and may persist in the form of some anxiety for remaining time period.

The apparent drug incident seems to have precipitated this chain of attacks for you, leading to constant fear of having another such episode/attack again.
I can understand your worry. I want to suggest to you and your mom, that these anxiety attacks need to be dealt with either by relaxation exercises or by proper medication for a few weeks time, after consultation with a Psychiatrist in your area.

There is nothing to worry about. You may read about relaxation tips from http://patient.info/health/relaxation-exercises
and try implement them.
I also hope you receive a formal assessment and consultation from a specialist to allay your anxiety.

Hope this helped you get an idea of the problem. Feel free to contact regarding any more doubts.
