I had a sudden loss of earing in left ear 3 days ago. Went to a quick care center yesterday was told most likely TMJ, sinuses were clear. Was told that with alleve and a mouth guard it would be better the next day. Did both and still don t feel better. I don t think its TMJ. Neither my husband or I are aware of teeth grinding at night. It seems to feel better when lying down. Have taken decongestants with no relief. Migraines were mentioned but my migraine medicine did nothing either. Have spent all day in bed as this is only relief I seem to get. Also- low pitch noises bother me. There has been no trauma to the ear.
Hi,thank you for posting your query on health care magic.
Looking at your symptoms, you might be suffering from viral infection of the nerve for hearing.
It would be advisable to have a hearing test called pure tone audiometry as early as possible.
If there is sudden sensorineural hearing loss in the hearing test result, then you may need to start oral steroids and antivirals after showing to Otolaryngologist doctor.
Hope this answers your question.Take care.
