What Causes Inability To Maintain Workout Regimes Due To Blood Sugar Levels?

My friend has type 2 diabetes. Whenever she begins a workout regimen after about three weeks her body gets "stressed" according to her Dr. The first time she had trouble keeping her blood sugar down and the second time she pulled a muscle doing a simple exercise. Is there something specific that could be causing this?

Dear worried friend,
For a type 2 diabetic, even a sudden vigourous exercise after 3 weeks is a stress. And during any stress, blood sugar of diabetics shoots up as compensatory mechanisms of insulin are impaired. These muscles strains are also because her diabetes has weakened her nerves and muscles. I highly suspect that her diabetes is not well managed, and she is going to have a tough time if this continues. I advice you to make her consult a diabetologist/endocrinologist for proper management of her diabetes.
