It sounds like
facial palsy. This is like a mini stroke- not really a stroke. The stroke affects a huge number of nerves. In this just the
facial nerve is affected. Possibly same factors can affect the facial nerve that affect the rest of the body.
I would suggest an
MRI brain to make sure that there is no serious ongoing condition, especially in view of preceding headache. So please request your doctor to go for an MRI. Most likely, he will not refuse.
sometimes facial palsy takes up to 1 month for healing.
I am not sure this is related to high sugars only. As you said, sugars are now controlled.
