What Causes Incoherent Speech After A Head Injury?

How can we get my Grandson to see a psychiatrist? We are so afraid he is having some bad issues. He is talking weird stuff. He was in A car accident about 5 years ago and hit his head. He was suppose to follow up with a Doctor but, he would not go see one. We have noticed he has been changing within the years. Now he says WEIRD things and he does not make sense. He is also on pot and alcohol. I am afraid as to what he may do either to himself or maybe others. There is so much to say but, I do not have time to write everything We NEED HELP NOW. PLEASE TELL ME WHAT I CAN DO OR WHAT US HIS FAMILY CAN DO. I AM HIS GRANDMOTHER.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi, i do care for your concern.
The trauma has minimal role to the current symptoms.
The symptoms are more of drug abuse.
I would advise
To get enroll him to a psychiatrist, and put him on medication along with behaviourial therapy.
The support of family members is a must, which will add to the help.
after this he will revert back to his normal life.
Hope I have answered your question. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help.
