What Causes Inconsistent Growth Of Fetus During Pregnancy?
Hi Doc, My wife is 36 weeks pregnant as per dates. Growth of baby shows as 33+ weeks in last weeks scanning. Doc has prescribed ARG 9 for 10 days. Baby had good growth till last scan, we are worried why growth has not been consistent. Weight of baby at present is 2.2kgs.

This is a very broad question. There are three broad causes of fetal growth problems:
1. Problems with the baby
2. Problems with the placenta
3. Diseases of the mother
So in any women whose fetus is showing signs of "fetal growth restriction", there needs to be a close look at the fetus with a targeted ultrasound, and a review of the mother's record to look for problems such as blood pressure disease.
