What Causes Increase In Blood Pressure When Suffering From Obstructive Sleep Apnea?
What is wrong if I am unable to wake up for days at a time, sometimes 4 days. I wake up enough to go to the bathroom, drink and eat something fast. I do have obstructive sleep apnea and am on oxygen/cpap machine. I am 40 lbs overweight and have chronic fatigue with fibromyalgia. My blood pressure is 100/50 on those times.....it may raise 2-4pts but is most often the above rate. What is this?????? I m tired (literally) of living like this.
hello I will try to explain to you -as you might be aware of, obstructive sleep apnoea causes temporary cessation breathing. that means the breathing efforts are there but there is no flow of air. -this causes activation of different nervous systems of the body especially sympathetic nervous system. this causes hypertension and many other problems like abnormal blood lipids, increased blood sugars etc. -because of the lack of proper sleep n the night you tend to feel drowsy in the day time. it is part of the disease process. -obesity is one of the major causes of obstructive sleep apnoea. -just a word of advice- various surgical procedures are available for morbid obesity. you can consult your doctor regarding that. thank you
