Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Increase In Temperature At Night, Bladder Spasms And Severe Headache?
I am 56 years old, female, Since Sunday I have been running a low grade fever of 99.3 during the day and it spikes to 100.6 at night. It started out with bladder spasms on Sunday and feeling like a UTI- like I have to pee but had trouble doing so. Severe headache, joint pains too. The doctor put me on Bactrim and by yesterday my bladder felt more like normal but I am still feeling terrible. Still running a temp, headache and joint pains. Yesterday the doc switched me to Cipro. Should I be worried that something else is going on and its not just a simple UTI?
The symptoms suggest towards urinary tract infection, but I'll advise to go for a urine culture test and an USG abdomen and then to start treatment based on the reports. There is nothing to worry.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Deepak Sundriyal, Oncologist
