What Causes Increase In The Heart Rate While Treating Gastritis?

My mother is 84 and having serious issues with stomach gas. The gas builds up rapidly and painfully causing her BP and heart rate to increase significantly. Intense belching ensues to the point of almost vomiting but there is no nausea. Over the counter gas relief products do not help. We have been to the ER multiple times but they only treat the reaction of the heart not the catalyst of the stomach. We have an appointment with a gastroenterologist on Thursday but would appreciate any insight.

Hello,

So new-onset gastric symptoms at this age require an endoscopy. It can be some infection or sometimes a more serious issue like cancer.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
