What Causes Increased BP Level Along With Noise In Ears?

I m a female, 69 years old and overweight. I don t feel right. My blood pressure is 168/92 and pulse 122. I have a loud noise in my ears and I feel like my head is about to explode. I can hear my heart beat in my ears. I took my blood pressure med and it hasn t seemed to help. What could be causing me to feel this way?

Thank you for your question, I am Dr Asanghanwa Carlson, I would say you are suffering from a condition known as High blood pressure as your blood pressure is far higher than the normal value which is normally 120/80mmHg. The fact that the pressure values remain high despite your medication means the medication is not adapted to your condition. I would advise you consult your cardiologist so the dose of your medication is adjusted appropriately or a better drug prescribed. The noise in your ears and head are all due to the rise in your blood pressure. Good luck and wish you a quick recovery.
