What Causes Increased Appetite And Sugar Cravings?

I am 63 yr. old, I weight 190 lbs, 5 8 for the last few months I have been eating constantly, I do not really be hungry, and most of the times it is sweets that I crave. I experience these craving throughout the day, when I am outside of my home I do not have this problem I think. I do smoke and I experience shortness of breath when I give lectures to my clients (drug counselor). My throat has burning sensations, and it irritates me (hurt a bit when I swollow). The hunger cravings are my reason for contacting you, I had surgery on my throat a year ago, no cancer was found. Why the constant hunger all during the day when I am at home?

Hello and welcome to HCm,
Excessive hunger and craving for sweets can be due to diabetes mellitus.
I suggest you to take up fasting blood sugar levels to rule out possibility of diabetes mellitus which is still not diagnosed.

Thanks and take care
