What Causes Increased Blood Pressure After Whiplash Injury?
I was recently in a car accident. I was diagnosed with whiplash at the time. A couple weeks after the accident the headaches just would not go away. I went back to urgent care and they told me I had post concussion syndrome. While at urgent care my blood pressure was 175/100. I have never had problems with my blood pressure before. Inhave been checking it at home since and itnis staying around 140/91 - 150/101. Can this be caused by the accident? Also should I go back to the urgent care for the high blood pressure?
hi thanks for posting in HCM I have understand your concern
most probable reason for your high BP was the post trauma stress .probably you may have pre hypertension before accident and after that because of stress blood pressure levels gone up.
in long run definitely high BP is going to cause damage to multiple organs I can suggest you some base line tests like 1.hemogram 2.renal function tests 3.RBS 4.ECG
I can suggest you to take tab.losartan 50 mg once a day monitor blood pressure and adjust dose
along with that regular exercise and salt restricted diet ll helps you to control your BP.
hope this helps you any further questions please let me know thanks
