What Causes Increased Creatine Phosphokinase Level And Elevated Heartbeat?

My 2yr old son is being evaluated for Autism Spectrum disorder. He had a panel of genetic testing done and his CPK level is 393. The neuro doc says she would like it between 2-160. He now has a fever of 100.1 and his heart is beating faster than normal. Should I be concerned?

Hi,

All these things (marginal high CPK and elevated heart rate) can happen during a febrile illness. Re-check it after 1 week of settling fever. It should normalize by the. Otherwise we can evaluate further.
