What Causes Increased Frequency Of Urination And Bladder Pain During Pregnancy?
I am 27 years old and 17 weeks pregnant, when my pregnancy started I was going to the bathroom frequently, but around every 3 hours.... now for the last week or two, my bladder feels painfully full after 45 min to an hour. And then when I try to empty my bladder, it isn't fully emptying and actually hurts a little (not my urination stream, but the bladder itself.) Do I have a bladder infection or something else?
Although bladder infections and urinary tract infections are quite common during pregnancy, I should first tell you that due to the increased size of the uterus it applies pressure on the surrounding structures like the urinary bladder and the bowels. This results in an increased urge to pass urine and your bowels.
Although this is the only symptom, but if accompanied with other symptoms of an infection like burning sensation, white discharge, blood in urine, chills, fever, etc; you will have to report to a doctor for further evaluation.
Hope this helps.
Best wishes.
