What Causes Increased Heart Rate Along With Dizziness?
During a routine bike ride today, my heart began to race and I felt light headed. I stopped to rest and found my heart rate to be 140 after 1 min of rest. I am in good shape and exercise regularly. This was mile 28. I do have bp on the low side. I did have a light breakfast of protein shake. I was well hydrated.... maybe too much water or low blood sugar? This was near phoenix.
Too much water would not cause this symptoms, more likely the other way around, too little water can cause palpitations because it would further reduce your blood pressure.
Low blood sugar is a possible cause as well but this would only be confirmed if your blood sugar is tested at the time of the symptoms.
I hope this helps
