Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Is it normal for your heart rate to increase over the resting heart rate over a 100 from standing and doing housework or even walking around. Had a echo cardio gram it was normal and a stress test. It was normal. I m just concerned over the increase. I am a 54 year old female who do not drink or smoke. Should I be concerned. It goes back to normal while I m sitting. But it goes back up with movement.
I have gone through your question and I will try my best to give you a satisfactory answer.
Increased heart rate can be caused by multiple reasons such as stress or anxiety taking stimulants like caffeine or energy drug use of certain drugs like for e.g drugs for cold or asthma hormonal changes such as in pregnancy or menopause iron deficiency anemia heart disease
I would recommend you consult your local physician for complete clinical history, detailed physical evaluation and further course of treatment.
In the mean time I would suggest you maintain a healthy life style, eat a nutritious diet, avoid strenuous exercise, reduce stress or anxiety and caffeinated products.
I hope this answers your question. Please feel free to contact HCM again if you have any concerns. Wishing you good health.
