I am male, 52 and have had Diabetes for 15 years. I take Metformin, HCT and amlodipine and it has not been problematic. Over the least two weeks, because I am foolish, I have not been taking the HCT and amlo. The other day, I was hit with vertigo, and it has been with me for four days now. The doctor at the hospital diagnosed me with BBPV and has given me betahistine for the vertigo, but did not ask about any of my medications. My reading suggests there may be some correlation between increased fluid pressure in the inner ear and vertigo, and betahistines are designed to reduce to the pressure. I am wondering if it is possible that the cause of my vertigo is actually the cessation of the water pills.
