What Causes Increased Muscle Fatigue In Arms, Tingling In Hands And Feet?

Hello Doctor, I m an active 59 year old male who lives in the Pacific Northwest. I ve slowly been developing an increase of muscle fatigue, particularly in my arms, along with some tingling in my hands and feet, and slight swelling in my hands causing my hands to feel some minor, unusual pain. I ve also had an increase in discomfort in my shoulder and elbow joints extending down the nerve into the middle of my forearm. It feels like the pain you get when throwing a baseball for the first time in a long time, or over throwing it! Any suggestions as to the things I might start considering? Sorry I can t be much more specific without being overly wordy. Thank you for any advice.

Cardiologist 's  Response
Hello,

Your symptoms could be suggestive of a bulging disc in the cervical vertebral column or a pinched nerve. For this reason, I recommend consulting with a neurologist for a physical exam and performing a cervical spine X-ray study and nerve conduction studies. A cervical spine MRI may be needed. You should discuss with your doctor on the above tests.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ilir Sharka, Cardiologist
