What Causes Increased Ringing In Ears Post Bypass Surgery?
Since having bypass surgery 5 months ago I have been suffering from increased ringing in my ears. I did have it before the surgery but no where near as acute as it is lately. I also have have problem sleeping and when I have had s bad night the ringing in my ears worsens.
Ringing in the ears (tinnitus) can be due to different possible causes such as : (1) age related hearing loss (2)trauma (3) infection (4) excess ear wax (5) side effect of medication
It is not likely related to the surgery directly but the worsening may just be the progression of the symptoms.
It would be best to see an ENT specialist who may be able to help treat you. It may not be possible to get rid of the tinnitus but may be possible to manage it so it is not as bothersome.
I hope this helps
