Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Increased Sexual Desire During Menopause?
Hi I am 50 and had my last period 6 months ago. I have recently had a very intense sexual apatite only for my husband and he touches me I am wet and I could have sex all the time. 10 minutes after we are done I want to go again. I am not complaining and my husband does. I am to much at times. Is this normal for menopause or am I just odd.
Women actually normally reach their sexual peak when they are older- usually in their mid-to late-forties. Many women find it easier to orgasm and also find sex more satisfying later in life.
Unfortunately the same is not true for men- their sexual functioning peaks in their late teens.
So I want to let you know that you are normal and healthy! You may need to work out some things with your husband but there is nothing wrong with your body or your sexuality.
I hope I answered your question and my information was helpful.
Best wishes, Dr. Brown
