Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
HI There I torn one of my calf muscles about 3 weeks ago for which I did visit an A&E for. I ended up with a dent in the middle of my calf. I have healed very well since and am walking normally again (not running yet of course) as well as exercising it with stretching and no weight exercises however I still have the dent, should I be worried?
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have indentation in the calf muscle. Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like edema . Edema can be due to cardiovascular or renal disease. Another possibility of venous congestion , injury , muscle sprain leading to indentation. I would suggest you to consult orthopedic surgeon . Doctor order CT scan , MRI or physical examination. Doctor may refer you to cardiologist for cardiac disease or nephrologist for kidney disease . For now apply warm compresses and keep your legs in hot water tub with espom salt in it in 15 minutes .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
