What Causes Indigestion After A Gastric Bypass Surgery?

I had gastric bypass surgery about a month ago and I have been sticking to the very strict diet from the weight loss center. Just recently I have been getting indigestion a lot in between meals. I take tums and it helps a bit but always comes back. What is this and why?

Hello,

After gastric bypass surgery indigestion causes
1. People more prone to gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) lead to pain and decreased absorption lead to indigestion.
2. Fat is difficult to absorb so fatty food may decrease digestion and poor emptying lead to indigestion.
3. Dumping syndrome: Also cause pain and indigestion.
So continue antacids, avoid spicy food and fatty food. If symptoms not improved, please consult your doctor he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Penchila Prasad Kandikattu
