What Causes Indigestion After Angioplasty And Stent Placement Surgery?

Dear sir, A few days back my father faced a little chest pain and numbness in his left arm and left leg. We immediately went to the emergency and there his ECG and ECHO were performed and the reports were perfectly fine. He also went through the TROPONIN I test and the result was 0.01 which was informed by the doctor as BORDERLINE. At the same time he was feeling indigestion too and was regularly having burps (dakaars). Post the TROPONIN I test doctors suggested for an angiography which showed that one of the ventricle was 100% blocked. Accordingly a DES stent was placed and in one of the ventricle s with less blockage balooning was done. Its been almost 4 days since the procedure and he is still facing that indigestion and is burping a lot. He is also having a headache at most of the times. Could u please suggest the reason for the same?? Regards

Hi,
Welcome to health care magic,

After the any invasive procedure like angioplasty or angiography are not uncommon because of use of certain cardiac drugs and antibiotics which are to be given as a prophylactic.

The other reason could be change of diet or bed ridden for that period but there is no need to worry as it may get subsided by itself and without any special medications.

However, he can take antacids with digestive enzymes. His treating cardiologist may prescribe it.

But there is no need to be worried as it will go way after the discontinuation of antibiotics.

Consult your doctor if problems persists.

Regards,
