What Causes Indigestion And Diarrhea After Taking Doxycycline?
Back in February I took doxycycline for roscea I was on tablets for 3 weeks It unsettled my stomach and gave Me gas, tummy noise sore eyes etc.Even though I stopped the meds I still have upset stomach, soft stools (no blood in stool) sore and noisy throat. Im now on pariet and it has settled things down but i now have tender to touch naval area. What you suggest i do as im concerned... Should i see a specialist?
Usually some antibiotics e.g Doxycycline causes upset stomach and loose stools and it settles down once you stop the antibiotic. It seems you are now on Pariet and things are settling down. I understand that you do not have any loose stools or fever but only mild tenderness in navel area. I would recommend you continue on a bland diet and avoid fatty or spicy food and if it still continues the you see a gastroenterologist.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Preeti Jolly, Endocrinologist
