What Causes Indigestion While Treating Dengue Fever?

my mother is getting treatment for dengue fever.before treatment platlet count was 30000.after platlet transfusion for two days the count is now 51000.now she is feeling that food is not digesting.and she has gastric problem before.what will be happen ....

Treatment for dengue is not specific, it is symptomatic and hence there can be a presentation in different ways.

It is good that the platelet count is improving with transfusions. Dengue affects all the body and hence one gets severe aches, weakness and so on. Hence this may be the reason that the digestion of your mother is not proper.

She can take soft and bland diet, small and frequent feeds. Symptomatic treatment with a PPI like Pantoprazole can reduce gastritis and may improve appetite. Also, needed are multivitamins and so on. Be under observations and regular follow-up of a doctor and get review reports.
