What Causes Infected Boil On The Inner Side Of Lip Post Enlargement Procedure?
Hi I have recently had lip enlargements in UK using restylane and since have found a small ulcer on the inside of my bottom lip. I had it for about 4 days and as it became slightly harder I managed to pop it. A stringy guey clear substance came out a little then once I wiped it it went away. Just a few days later it re filled and I popped it and the same substance came out. Only a small amount again . Can you advise whether it may be the restylane filler?

General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi,
You seem to have inflammation of Bartholin gland situated at the problem site. The cause can be handling at time of dilatation. Please do not pop it while it's hard (raw), in such a case, it would recur. At present I would suggest a course of antibiotic, anti inflammatory, anti fungal (Metrogyl) to combat inflammation and possible infection. This may regress the problem to normal. In case it does bot go an incision &drainage procedure under needful anesthesia is indicated.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
