Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
my mother had her breast removed- had JP in for 6 weeks- it drained a bacteria that responded to Levaquin- she was on it for 4 weeks- still infected. Then she had another round of the same antibiotic. She now has red pustules about 3 inches in diameter over where the breast was removed and underneath her arm. What type of infection makes nasty pustules like that?
Staphylococcus aureus and Streptococcus are the two most common types of bacteria that cause cellulitis. Lymph node removal can weaken your immune system and increase your risk for cellulitis in the upper body. This includes your breasts. This infection can also occur after breast augmentation or reduction surgeries.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
