What Causes Inflamed Papilla On The Tip Of Tongue?

Hello, a few days ago i began to develop inflamed papillae on the tip of my tongue. Are these considered canker sores? The pain is sharp and burns and is causing excessive salivation. Tongue has been inflamed for 3 days and today i just developed swollen submental/sublingual glands right under my chin. No fever, fatigue, or malaise.

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

As per your complain you are suffering from APTHOUS STOMATITIS/ APTHOUS ULCERS leading to the symptoms you have..

I would suggest you to consult a dentist and get evaluated..

-In case of apthous ulcers a Steroid therapy like Prednisone twice daily can be taken..
-For pain Anti inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen (Advil or Motrin) can be taken..
-Warm saline gargles can help..
-Apply milk of magnesia three to four over the sores..
-Hydrogen peroxide and water mixed gargles can relieve..
-Suck on ice pops..
-Take a multivitamin tablet for 15 days..

Wishing you a sooner recovery..
