What Causes Inflammation Along With Itching In Vagina?

Hi. So for a while now I ve had an inflamed vagina. When I pee it burns and there are even little cut marks forming. It looks like i have a diaper rash of some sort too because of the redness. And my vagina and vulva are very itchy. I d like to know what it could be.

Hi,

There are several possible causes of an inflamed and itchy vagina, including:
* Yeast infection: This is a common fungal infection that can cause inflammation, itching, and burning in the vagina. Other symptoms may include white, clumpy discharge and pain during sex.
* Bacterial vaginosis: This is a bacterial infection that can cause inflammation, itching, and a fishy-smelling discharge.

Sexually transmitted infections (STIs): Certain STIs such as chlamydia, gonorrhea, and genital herpes can cause vaginal inflammation and itching.
* Allergic reaction: Some women may have an allergic reaction to certain products such as soaps, detergents, or feminine hygiene products. This can cause vaginal inflammation, itching, and a rash.
* Hormonal changes: Changes in hormone levels during the menstrual cycle, pregnancy, or menopause can cause vaginal dryness and inflammation.

If you are experiencing these symptoms, it is important to see a healthcare provider for an accurate diagnosis and proper treatment. They may perform a physical exam, take a sample of vaginal discharge for testing, or perform other diagnostic tests as needed. Treatment may include prescription medication such as antifungal or antibiotic creams, oral medication, or hormone therapy, depending on the underlying cause. It is important to avoid using any over-the-counter treatments without consulting a healthcare provider first, as they may not be appropriate for your specific condition.
