What Causes Inflammation And Tenderness In The Right Lower Leg?

Hello and thank you. My husband s lower right leg had an area that was warm to the touch, a little bit red, and very tender within the last 3 days. That area lost some redness, but tonight the redness and tenderness has spread to just below the knee up to the groin area. Just concerned what this might be. We do have his leg elevated at this time.

HI
Well come to HCM
I really appreciate your concern, I had gone through the history given here, and I could say that it could be cellulitis, till it is being diagnosed keep the leg in elevated position, it could be due to infection but it needs to be confirmed for antibiotic treatment, beside this it could be deep vein thrombosis condition, over all such case need several investigation to reach up to the diagnosis, NSAID can be tried for inflammation (redness) and to reduce the tenderness hope this information helps.
