What Causes Inflammation And Warm Sensation On The Leg After An Injury?

2 and a half days ago I fell on my leg (my leg was sideways under me) after I misstepped going down some stairs. My leg was sore but didn t start to bruise until the next day. Today my leg is not as painful (but still hurts even without touch) and it s bruised on the back, side and front, but it is also pinkish and warm to touch. Is this normal?

General Surgeon 's  Response
after trauma normal tissue undergoes inflammation which causes the local temperature to rise... this is perfectly normal... take some pain killer for the pain and rest for a while... the inflammation will subside in a few days and the bruise will take a week or two to completely disappear.
