What Causes Inflammation Around The Finger Joints?
Greetings! I have to take Allegra D but I have had a reaction when I take Claritin but not sure if it is the regular Claritin or the D. This may be weird but my left thumb at the first joint gets red and enlarged, as well as my lips -- both accompanied by itching. I eventually lose the skin on the thumb and lips; and, my thumb nail eventually gets replaced after a horizontal line appears. Actually, the horizontal lines grows with the thumb nail. I m not sure if it is the regular Claritin or Claritin D. Would you have an idea which one would cause such a reaction?
* The skin rash with inflammation around joints indicate a definite reaction to either Claritin or Claritin D.
* Stop further doses of the same immediately, and consult your doctor`s office for further assistance.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
