What Causes Inflammation Between Ribs Leading To Severe Back Pain?

I have ongoing pain in one specific spot in my back. It has gotten progressively worse over several years to the point where I can only do limited work at the kitchen counter or tasks like washing dishes. Over the years I have gone to my doctor when the pain becomes unbearable. He says it is an inflamation in the intercostal spaces between my ribs. The pain I live with has gradually increased over the last 3 years and is now wide spread throughout my body. What could it be? It has to be something more than inflamation.

After going through your query I came to know that you are suffering from muscular pain with a tender spot in your back.Treatment of it is rest and analgesics (diclofenac three times a day after meals).Muscle relaxant such as thiocolchicoside can be added Vitamin B-complex and Vitamin C supplementation can used to promote healing. I give triamcilone injection locally at tender spot to persons coming in my clinic having similar problems with good results.
