What Causes Inflammation In The Muscles?

My doctor called and told me a test came back that I took showing the There was high inflammation in my muscles. And she tried to research how I could have had such high inflammation in my system. I do have systemic mastocytosis and she could not find no relation to that. Just wanted to try and find out what could cause this? Thanks, Juanita Anderson

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

There are several medical conditions that can cause inflammation of the muscles.

This diagnosis usually causes muscle pain and stiffness.

The most common diagnoses are multiple sclerosis or lupus.

Several examinations should be done to confirm the cause.

I suggest you consult a rheumatologist for further evaluation and treatment.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi,
