What Causes Inflammation In Vaginal Opening?

Last week I had minimal itching. Nothing that concerned me. Yesterday I noticed the inside of my vaginal opening was bright red and the labia minora. I haven t necessarily noticed any abnormal discharge or foul smelling odors. Today everything is still red, but when I woke it was much pinker. My vaginal area is not sore. No pain with urinating. Just burns a faint amount at bottom of (my) left labia minora. Is an option of sending a photo available?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello
I had gone through yuur question very diligently and I can appreciate your concern
you can very easily send us a photograph, there is a option to upload a image at right side of your screen
I see patients with similar complaints in my clinic routinely And I will definitely help you as well in best possible way

Looking at your history this could be due to
1. Infection like STI or cervicitis
2. Vaginitis

In my opinion you should consult a gynaecologist for examination and a battery of tests like blood for hemoglobin, CBC ESR ,urine culture and sensitivity test and a vaginal swab for culture
You may require a course of antibiotics under supervision of your doctor

meanwhile maintain good hygiene
Have plenty of fluids
thanks for your question
Best wishes
