What Causes Inflammation On The Breasts After A Mammography?
I had a mammogram 3 weeks ago and two days latter the skin on the bottom on both breasts looks like they are burnt. It is now three weeks are they are still red. I have read about radiation burns and think this is what I have. Is it dangerous? Will it heal without medication

What Causes Inflammation On The Breasts After A Mammography?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice. * As per my clinical experience, the inflammation on both breasts after mammography is due to - skin reaction to the mammography plates kept over the breast for doing procedure. * It is not radiation burns, and it heals with proper local agents to be purchased from chemist after prescription of your doc. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
