What Causes Inflammation On The Face?

What would cause sudden flush of the face and it feeling hot like a sunburn? I have experienced this a few timeson most of the last week or so. No other symptoms appear nor do I have any other sensations. I know when it happens because I feel the heat on my face or someone will tell me how red my face is. It usually lasts about 10 mins or so, but i am curious.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

As per your query you have symptoms of inflammation on the face which seems to be a type of allergic reaction known as utricaria. It could be due to vitamin deficiency and systemic causes as well. Need not to worry about it. I would suggest you to use a moderately potent topical steroid such as fluticasone, twice daily over the whole affected area and use it for 5 to 7 days. Maintain complete hygiene of area. Avoid exposure to sunlight. Wash area with plain water and apply ice pressure on it. Drink plenty of water. Visit dermatologist once and get it examined to find out exact cause of lesion and start treatment accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Harry Maheshwari
