What Causes Inflammation On The Tongue After Using A Snore Guard Device?
I have been using a snore guard (Silent Nite) device for ~8 months. Within the past 4 to 6 weeks I ve had symptoms within my mouth that have progressed to where it seems that the end of my tongue and the inside of my mouth seem to be feel like they are raw. There s no blood, just that those parts of my mouth are a bit sensitive. The end of my end is redder than normal.
It looks like there is inflammation inside mouth and tongue leading to Stomatitis and Glossitis..
Due to inflammation there is redness and soreness and can be due to a number of causes like Allergic reaction traumatic injury, nutritional deficiency, dry mouth etc..
Also you need to check if the snore guard is causing injury inside mouth causing irritation and soreness..
So my suggestion is to consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated..
As of now start gargling twice a day with specialised mouthwash like Magic Mouthwash and chew sugarfree chewing gum.. Do cool water rinses and such ice pops.. You can also take anti inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen if pain is annoying.. Avoid spicy foods and take a vitamin B complex daily..
Hope this helps..
Regards..
