Hi,
Yes, your concern is right. Drugs which you are taking might be the cause of your
insomnia and vivid dreams as well. Here are some tips to improve your sleep:
* Have a bed time routine
* Avoid things that may disturb sleep like caffeine, alcohol and
nicotine for an hour or so before bed time
* Exercise during the day time will help you sleep better at night
* Exposure to the bright light during the day helps your body to recognize night time better and the need to sleep
* Create a comfortable sleep environment
* No pets allowed
* Try over the counter sleep aids
* Avoid naps during the day time
If you still find it difficult to have a good sleep despite of all these measures, contact your doctor to alter the treatment given for Parkinson's disease that does not cause such symptoms.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Sameen Bin Naeem, General & Family Physician
