What Causes Intense Calf Pain Post Ankle Repair Surgery?
On Friday March 4th I had a surgery completed on my ankle to repair some ligaments and what not. I am in a cast up to my knee for the next 6 weeks. 2 days ago I started experiencing really bad calf pain and spasms. The pain in the calve does not go away no matter what I try. Should I be concerned ?

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have intense calf pain post ankle repair surgery . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query muscle cramp , baker's cyst , achilles tendonitis or DVT . It can also occur due to condition like sciatica or due to post surgery complication so also consult your surgeon. I would suggest you to keep your leg in hot water tub with epsom salt for 15 minutes twice daily , take proper rest and take ibuprofen or acetaminophen for pain . If condition doesn't get well then consult orthopedic surgeon for proper examination . Doctor may order CT scan along with physical examination . Doctor may also order nerve conduction test to rule out nerve compression . Doctor may prescribe muscle relaxant , anti inflammatory along with physical therapy .
