What Causes Intense Chest Pain With Breathing Difficulty?
I just had some intense chest pain, on the left side of my body, located inferior to my left breast. Lasted about 5 min, and I had an incredibly hard, painful time trying to breathe. Hot flashes, and I haven't been feeling well for the past hour or so (Nausea, dizziness, etc.). The symptoms seem consistent with a heart attack, but I am a healthy 20 year old college student. Should I go to the hospital?
Thanks for your question on Health Care Magic. I can understand your concern. Possibility of heart disease is less but now a days heart diseases can present at younger age. So better to get done ecg and 2d echo. If both are normal then no need to worry for heart diseases. Sometimes stress and anxiety can cause similar symptoms of nausea, hot flush, left sided chest pain etc. So consult psychiatrist and get done counselling sessions. Try to identify stressor in your life and start working on its solution. You may need anxiolytic drugs too. Don't worry, you will be alright. But first rule out heart diseases. Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
