What Causes Intense Itchiness In The Middle Of Right Heel?
I have a deep, INTENSE itch in the middle of my right heel on the plantar surface of my foot. It is intermittent, but debilitating. The itch is deep in the tissue and not related to any kind of foot trauma, rash, or superficial skin issue. I have to scratch it with a wire brush and the itch lasts for about 20 minutes per episode. I suspect that it is nerve related. I have had an L4-L5 spinal fusion (5 years ago), and still experience some radicular pain in my left leg. This itch is INTENSE and particularly bothersome especially if it occurs when I am driving. I am a 66 year old, retired female and moderately physically active. HELP...
